Tom Cable’s weekly Monday press conference was over by 2:30 p.m. today. It took the Raiders about 90 minutes to create a lurid little sideshow out front of the Cable circus tent.

Tom Cable got a nine-day reprieve. That’s how long he had between Napa County DA Gary Lieberstein’s liberating announcement on Oct. 22 and a second wave of bombshell news this morning.

A week or two ago, coach Tom Cable said the Raiders were on the verge of getting healthy. He sounded excited about the prospect. Now it looks like the team is regressing instead of healing.

What I think about Cable and Hanson
I have to say I wasn’t surprised by the Napa DA’s decision to drop the Tom Cable case. Maybe you were. If so, it may have been because of the way news was disseminated in this story.

Cable-Hanson update
It’s on.
Napa County District Attorney Gary Lieberstein is saying that his office will send out a press release after 2-3 p.m. today explaining their “filing decision” in the Tom Cable – Randy Hanson investigation. Check here this afternoon for another update.

LOL: Hanson texting Routt
Nothing new from the Napa County district attorney on Cable vs. Hanson, as of Wednesday early evening. In the locker room today, though, cornerback Stanford Routt said he’s had “a conversation or two” with Randy Hanson.
